What we do not see

Start here, because it removes most of the usual worries. There is no cart on this site, no checkout and no accounts. That means we never receive your name, your delivery address, your card details, your order history or your phone number. Those go to the retailer when you buy from them, under their privacy policy, and nothing about that transaction comes back to us with your identity attached.

What we do collect

• Basic request data. Our host records the usual server-side facts about a page view: the page, a truncated address, the browser string, the referring page. That is standard log data and it is not tied to a person.
• Aggregate traffic counts. Which pages are read, roughly where readers come from, which product pages send clicks onward. We use it to decide which guides to write and which pages need better measurements.
• Whatever you put in an email. If you write to us, we keep the message and the address you sent it from for as long as it takes to answer, and then for a while afterwards in case you reply to the same thread.

Why

Three purposes, and no others: to keep the site running and defended, to see which pages are worth improving, and to answer messages people send us. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not sell or rent data, and there is no email list to be added to.

When you leave this site

The buy buttons open the retailer's product page in a new tab. From that moment their privacy policy governs, including any tracking they do, any cookie they set and anything you type into their checkout. The link carries an affiliate identifier so the retailer can attribute a qualifying purchase to us. It identifies this site, not you, and no personal detail travels in it.

Cookies

Covered separately on the cookies page. The short version is that this site sets no advertising cookies of its own, because it has nothing to advertise to you and no cart to remember.

Retention

Server logs roll over on the host's normal schedule. Aggregate counts are kept because they are anonymous and useful over time. Email threads are deleted once they clearly have no further use.

Your choices

You can block cookies and scripts in your browser and every page here still works, including the size calculators, which run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere. If you have written to us and want the thread deleted, ask and it will be.

Children

This is a catalog of adult leather goods and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, which is itself a consequence of how little we collect.
